before & after session checklist
Before Your Appointment
📅 CLEAR YOUR SCHEDULE
Make sure your schedule for the day of your appointment is completely clear. The last thing we want is a rushed tattoo.
💧 SHOW UP HYDRATED
Drink at least 8 cups of water, gently exfoliate, and frequently moisturize your skin DAILY leading up to your appointment. Do not wait until the day before or day of.
💤 GET PROPER SLEEP
Make sure you get enough sleep the night before and eat a full meal with little sodium.
🚫 AVOID CAFFIENE & ALCOHOL
Do not consume any caffeine/alcoholic beverages and blood thinning medications the day before and day of your appointment. This can affect the quality of your tattoo by causing you to bleed more than usual which will dilute the ink making your tattoo appear washed out or faded. The appointment may have to be rescheduled.
🍽️ DON'T FORGET TO EAT!
Please eat before your appointment! Bringing snacks is more than okay. Refreshments will be available just in case.
⚡ BRING YOUR CHARGER
Don't forget your phone charger!
💦 USE NUMBING SPRAY
Numbing spray will be used during the session since it acts fast. Purchasing your own numbing cream is preferred since most brands have to be applied prior to the appointment; be sure to do this at least an hour before unless instructions say otherwise.

After Care Tips
AVOID THESE COMMON MISTAKES
DO NOT use moisturizers with scents/dyes and soaps meant for the face or body during healing.
DO NOT use hot water, only warm water.
DO NOT submerge a fresh tattoo in water until it’s completely healed.
DO NOT pick, scratch, or rub your tattoo.
DO NOT allow your tattoo to become too dry or overly moisturized, as this can lead to infection or fading.
DO NOT use plastic as a protective wrap, as it traps sweat and bacteria.
KEEP YOUR HANDS CLEAN
Always wash your hands thoroughly with antibacterial soap before touching your tattoo to prevent infection.
BANDAGE REMOVAL
Remove your bandage at least an hour after getting your tattoo, unless instructed otherwise by your artist.
WASH GENTLY
Wash your tattoo gently with warm water and antibacterial soap, using your fingertips in a circular motion.
PAT DRY, DON'T RUB
After washing, pat your tattoo dry with a clean paper towel. Avoid rubbing to protect your healing skin.
MOISTURIZE RESPONSIBLY
Once clean and dry, apply a thin layer of recommended ointments like A&D, Lubriderm, or Eucerin to keep your tattoo hydrated.
WEAR THE RIGHT CLOTHES
Opt for soft, loose, breathable clothing to avoid friction and irritation on your fresh tattoo.
STAY MINDFUL
Be mindful when sleeping. You may need to create a barrier of paper towels to prevent accidental rubbing or damage. If engaging in vigorous work or activities, keep your tattoo clean and covered as needed to protect it from sweat and dirt.
